Nicky’s Mum’s chocolate orange trifle

1 packet of orange jelly
1/2 pint of apple juice
3 chocolate muffins
2 medium oranges
1/2 pint of water
10 ginger nuts
1 pint double cream
2 tbsp bacardi
820g of custard
2 oz dark chocolate

Make the jelly with 1/2 pint of boiling water topped up with the apple juice. Put it in the fridge.

Slice 3 muffins vertically into 3. Place these in the base of a 4 pint glass bowl

Drizzle bacardi over the muffins

When jelly starts to set, pour it over the top of the muffins.

Push orange segments down the side of the bowl.

Pour over custard when the custard is cold.

Sprinkle with 10 ginger nuts

Whip up the cream, place it on top.

2oz of grated chocolate needs sprinkling on top.
